The Mini Gymnast & The Pocket Rocket | Central Coast Photographer

Now just bear with me while, I settle my ‘Proud Mumma Hat’ firmly on my head…..

Last weekend saw both my kids setting new personal records in their sporting lives and I could not be prouder of them!

1st up, The Mini Gymnast –

Saturday saw the Family head north to Doyalson for the Raw Challenge, so Aimilee and her Buritz Gymnastics team mates could have a go at the Mud Run, to say they were excited is an understatement, to say they loved every minute of it is a HUGE understatement!!

Here are some of my favourite images from the day…

The Buritz Team ready to go…

On their way – but still clean…

Oh, now we see why it is called a ‘Mud-Run’…

There were plenty of obstacles and some more mud…

This next one was easy for the Gymnasts…

And some climbing…

In the end, apart from all the obstacles, the mud and the fun, the day was ultimately about teamwork (and why some of the Dad’s were roped into the team)

Crossing the finish line, cold, wet but elated!

And finally posing all together before a shower (cold), some dry clothes and a well earned drink and a snack…

So proud of Aimilee and all the girls, they did an awesome job and their teamwork was inspiring!

2nd up, The Pocket Rocket –

Sunday, saw us closer to home, back at the Terrigal BMX track, with Ash entering his first State Series Race – after only joining the club and starting to race 1 week before – with over 600 riders entered for the days racing it was very chaotic and a bit overwhelming, Ash was worried that he had the wrong bike, so the club very generously lent him a race bike for the day – so not only was my teeny-tiny little racer surrounded by hundreds of other racers – he was also on a bike he had never ridden before!

Did any of that deter him? Why, no of course not! On went his helmet and off he went!!

I have never seen this kid as focussed as when he has his helmet on!

Now Ash is still in what they call the ‘Sprocket’ bracket, which is an encouragement bracket for the younger kids and as long as they finish all their races they get rewarded with a trophy, Ash was pretty happy about that!

So after a very big weekend, we were hoping for a quiet one next weekend…..not to be, of course, Ash is back to racing on Saturday afternoon and Aimilee is helping me out at a horse show on Sunday!

Keep them fit, keep them tired is my parenting motto!
