Rescue Work – Giving Back

ServicePro-slant

All over the world, there are animals in shelters – lost dogs – abandoned cats – neglected stock – and of course the overflow from backyard breeders and “Puppy Mills”

All my life I have rescued animals, from the mice at a house down the street that I didn’t think had big enough houses ( I was about 6yrs old and the mice were fine – I just really wanted mice) to dogs, cats, birds and ex-racehorses.

My current fur-family are 2 rescue cats – Sebastian 18yrs & Lilly 12 years both dumped as kittens and 1 rescue dog – Skarla 4yrs from the RSPCA. Milly came from a breeder of working Kelpie’s and was originally sold to another local Family but there were allergy problems and I ended up with her by default (but there is no way I would change that!)

With my own fur-family complete, the best way I can help other animals in shelters is by donating my time, my photography skills  and my images in a bid to help these wonderful animals find their very own forever homes.

I regularly photography locally for Peggy’s Promise & Puppy Love Rescue and Claws ‘N Paws Rescue, I have also photographed for AWDRI and ABR.

I believe strongly in the power of a good photograph for a pets adoption profile, below are galleries for some of the Peggy’s Promise and Puppy Love Rescue dogs who I have photographed.

Peggy’s Promise:

“Peggy’s Promise aims to assist pet owners on the NSW Central Coast that have no other support, by contributing to the pets basic needs and prevent owners needing to surrender their much loved companion. The project is soley run by volunteers and is heavily reliant on compassion for those who are in genuine need. There are many people who go without themselves to care for those who may be their only family or friend, their pet. We do not receive any funding and each case is assessed individually to decide how we may assist. We work alongside local.homeless shelters, disability support services, hospitals, DV services, police and other community support facilities.”

Just some of the Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens photographed for Peggy’s Promise in the 2nd half of 2016….
