Our Family was lucky enough to sneak away for a few days starting on New Years Eve.

We have Friends who have bought property down Cowra way and we had not had a chance to see their new place yet, so we headed South! 5 hours South/West actually.

I fell in love just driving up their driveway

The next series of images is a walk around the house paddock looking out to the sheep paddocks….

Ending up at the back door, which like most country houses, is really the door everyone uses.

It looks dry – and it is, but luckily the property comes with a permanent natural spring. Now I did mention that these were sheep paddocks, so I had better introduce the sheep!

One of the lovely calm flocks of Merino sheep our Friends now have on the property.

This holiday was so our Families could get together and have some relax time, both the Dad’s are into archery, so that means the kids – all 6 of them – are too. And sheep paddocks make great practice fields!

Then the kids had some fun, when Skarla (who had to stay tethered as she chases sheep) realised that the trolley she was tied to was on wheels and didn’t really slow her down much! How do you wear out a Kelpie X on a farm when she is not a farm dog? You teach her to be a sled dog! Mush Skarla!!

Our Friends also have a few chickens on the farm and had an incubator running while we were there, the kids were very lucky to see a chick hatch, this one little baby got LOTS of cuddles….

We had a great time on the farm, the kids played, the adults rested it was perfect! We would hear the kids wake up at about the same time as the roosters the kids would be out the door and on their bikes before getting out of their Pj’s most days! I did manage to catch them one morning and for a change they had got dressed – well except for Ash who is still in his Pj’s!!

Then it was out the back gate and off on an adventure…

All the sessions were so much fun.

Are you interested in the pet tally from this years Mini Sessions? You are, good…..

This Xmas season I photographed:

3 Cats

3 Bearded Dragons

9 Horses

109 Dogs

yes that is right 109 Dogs – in all shapes, sizes and colours – but all the dogs, cats, horses and dragons have 1 thing in common…..they are loved Family members, every single one of them.

Thank you to all the animals for being so well behaved and thank you to all the owners for allowing me the chance to photograph your pets at this special time of year.
