When Linda contacted me to book a studio session for Bela, I squealed with delight, literally – my Family thought something was wrong!
Why did I do that? Because Bela is a West Highland White Terrier!! One of my favourites of the Terrier breeds, I have been waiting for ages to get a ‘Westie’ in the studio and Bela did not disappoint….
Thank you Linda for bringing Bela into the studio and allowing me to capture her beautiful personality.
Way back on the 1st of December I again photographed for the Central Coast Quarter Horse Association, I really love their shows, they are such a wonderful, Family-Friendly group of horse lovers!
And since I am so far behind with my blogging – lets jump straight in with some stunning horses…..
After the Halter classes, as usual, we moved onto the Hunter Under saddle classes…
There are some really lovely horses here, don’t you think?
next we moved onto the Western Riding classes….
You know what, these horses are really very talented, many of them compete in the halter classes, the hunter in hand, the hunter under saddle, the western riding classes and finally the trail classes!! That is a big day of both western and english disciplines.
I just love spending my days at horse shows – it hardly feels like work at all, I really am so very lucky!
If you would like to see the full gallery of images from December’s show, you can find the HERE.
Thank you to all the owners and handlers for bringing out your beautiful horses for a great day’s showing.
See you all next time.
Still playing catch up on my blog posts, during our crazy hot spring, young Master Tristan was booked to come to the studio for his photo-shoot but due due the terrible bushfire situation we had to postpone the session, you see Tristan’s Dad is a member of the NSW Bushfire Brigade and was rather busy and exhausted at that time! As you can well imagine.
When the weather became a little more settled Tristan brought his mum and Dad in and we got to have some fun, of course I asked for them to bring along something special to photograph Tristan with…
Dad’s jacket was the perfect choice! Tristan looks proud of his Dad, don’t you think?
We had lots of fun this day, this kid has a great smile and laugh!
And some awesome drooling was going on…
We had a bit of dress up fun,
Is this kid not just the cutest Little Man ever!?
Thanks Tristan for coming to play in the studio it was so lovely to get the chance to photograph you.
Just 2 weeks before Xmas I was up at some ghastly hour for a 45 minute drive to a photo session, it’s always hard getting up that early but with a cup of tea in a travel mug no kids to fight over which CD gets played and no traffic to contend with, it’s actually a great time of day to head off to work.
Work!!! Who am I kidding!!! Walking along the beach photographing two beautiful dogs as the sun slowly rises above the horizon and the light changes by the minute….yes it is work and I LOVE it!
This particular morning my walking companions were Gaudi & Dali 2 absolutely delightful Labradoodle’s
These two had so much fun, the beginning of our session was mostly about running, jumping, crashing into the waves and then some more running! There was the occasional spit second of stillness.
Don’t they look happy?
Then it was time for some posed shots…
Gaudi & Dali were really so well behaved, posing when they would rather keep running.
I would like to thank the Boys and their Mum for meeting up and getting me out of bed for a stunning morning at the beach.
2 weeks ago I received a phone call – a call that was amazing – a call that brought me to tears.
I was called by the Master Dog Breeders & Associates (MDBA) – the call was to tell me that I had been nominated by some of my clients for the annual awards in the “Canine Photographer/artist of the Year” category!
I was speechless, I was excited, I was terrified, I was ecstatic, I AM HUMBLED….humbled that my clients think enough of me and my work to take time out of their busy lives to nominate me for this award.
I still can not quite believe it!
So I have completed the 3 page questionnaire and now I wait….the award winners are announced in may in Melbourne, whether I win or not, I don’t mind the most important thing for me is the nomination (don’t get me wrong winning would be extra super amazing!)
Now my fingers are crossed and we will see….
